We Fix Drainage Problems For Homeowners

These are some of the common problems we've come across in our travels throughout Wallkill and Ulster County.

Wet, soggy ground

Flooding driveways

Wet, flooding basements

Plugged footing drains

Stormwater runoff and drainage

Soil and or mulch washing away

Wet basements and foundation drainage

Here in Ulster County, we have an abundance of clay soil that retains moisture and doesn't drain well. Over time foundation footing drains become plugged and no longer work. When these drains fail, pressure builds, and water penetrates basements. The older the foundation, the more likely it is to have moisture penetration.

The situation is rectified by excavating around the perimeter of your foundation and installing a proper drainage system and foundation waterproofing.

Soggy lawns and standing water

Here at Loyal Landscaping, we understand that there could be several factors that contribute to a soggy lawn. Soil composition is always a factor, and we know that the poor drainage characteristics of the "hardpan" clay soil we have in the Walkill area do not help.

Assuming septic-related issues have been ruled out as the source of the problem, we would look to the common culprits. For example, soil compaction, poor grading, roof, and stormwater runoff can contribute to lawn oversaturation problems.

Once we evaluate your situation, we can recommend an appropriate solution.

Drain types we install

We install two basic types of drains: French drains and Channel drains. A channel drain is also known as a "trench drain."

The fundamental difference between the two types of drains is this: French drains mitigate groundwater issues where water swells upward, while channel drains are used to divert surface water.

When we visit your property, we can evaluate your situation and recommend the appropriate type of drainage system needed.
